Imperfect Prints

Tamara Ronci and Rebecca Olsen

SRISA Gallery, Florence, Italy

March 27th 2025 to April 10th 2025

This exhibition brings together the work of Tamara Ronci and Rebecca Olsen —artists, colleagues, friends, and printmakers — whose practices unfold within the liminal space between drawing, painting, and printmaking. Both artists challenge the historically reproductive dimension of printmaking, embracing imperfection and contingency as generative forces within their process.

Rejecting the pursuit of the perfect print, they approach the plate as a site of mutation— its matrix functioning as a form of DNA – with each print as a unique manifestation rather than a mere replication. Through acts of layering, erasure, repetition, and recombination, they engage printmaking as an evolving language, where failure and deviation catalyze new visual possibilities.

Their languages — one figurative, abstract the other — converge in a material and conceptual dialogue, where color, stratification, drawing, and collage coalesce into compositions that resist fixity, soliciting an ongoing process of transformation and discovery.
